French Friday (...on Sunday...)

I know I'm two days late, but I still wanted to share my French Friday with you this week. My main source of distraction this weekend: I got the job! I start tomorrow as a receptionist and am so excited.

This week's frenchy goods are a few of my favorite french movies.

Amélie is not only my favorite French movie, but it is also my favorite movie ever. It is whimsical, dreamy, and has a really unique filming style.

The Dreamers is one of my favorite French movies because of all the Frenchy things you get to see. You see a bit of scenery as well as the inside of a dreamy French apartment. Be warned, it's pretty, uh, explicit.

I suppose this is not technically a "French" movie, but it takes place in Paris and again, you get an inside to French life.

I definitely have a lot more favorite French movies than just these three so expect to see another favorite French movie post. Hopefully it will be on a Friday.

Kitchen Tips

I want to share two tips I discovered this week for in the kitchen.

1. Use an egg slicer to slice mushrooms. A few weeks ago at the grocery store I noticed a little device advertised as a mushroom slicer. I'm always afraid I'm going to cut a finger off so I took a closer look. It was nothing more than an egg slicer and it was priced around $8. This week I used the egg slicer I already had to slice my mushrooms and it worked like a charm!

2. Use an apple corer to pulverize Oreos. I hardly love anything more than crushed Oreos on my ice cream, and my slap chop does a wonderful job of chopping but it a pain to clean. Not really, but it's more effort than I want to go through sometimes. Tonight I was trying to come up with something that would crush them but wouldn't make a complete mess, so I took the apple corer to them in the bowl I was going to use for ice cream. Less dishes, no mess!

Two Springy pictures, even though it was snowing sideways in Seattle tonight:

And a few links to enjoy...

These cute nesting dolls. Who has ever seen gnome and owls?!

Flavored Lemonade from Elsie and Emma. Summer, where are you?

Apple Cinnamon Quinoa. Just what I needed to use up the apple cider in my fridge.

French Friday

I feel absolutely rotten that I haven't done a post since the last French Friday (get it? french fry. day. heh.) I have spent the entire week revolving all of my energy into an interview I had; my first interview in Seattle. I am very excited about the job and hope I get it but I haven't heard anything back yet.

For this French Friday I would like to share with you a blog I love that gives a good Frenchy fix, Oh Happy Day. It is not entirely a Frenchy blog and Jordan actually does a lot of kid-themed posts, but those that are based on Paris (where she and her family are living) or their travels are absolutely dreamy.

The post I would like to feature is called Bon Voyage Party. Some friends of hers put on a french-themed party! Follow the link in the her post to see lots more pictures.

Au Revoir!

French Friday

French Friday is a new weekly feature on Bells, Bowls, & Bobbins. In the spirit of my loving all things French, I will share with you a photograph, blog, site, fun fact, recipe, or other piece of French goodness.

Today I am sharing three pictures from my visit. I hope you enjoy!
